Whenever I try and copy a URL (for instance a URL for a youtube video) into a pages doc it comes up with a picture of the video instead of JUST the URL. Is there any way to get this to default to just the URL and NO image?

MacBook Air (2020 or later)
Copy the url from th location bar of your browser.
Click in a location in Pages that holds text or is formatted to hold text.
Go to the Edit menu and choose the highlighted menu item in the image below:
The second copy of the URL was pasted using the keystroke combination shown on the same line of the menu.
Both copies are (in Pages) active links to a 'cute kitten' video.

Recent versions of Pages (v12 shown below) have a Pages Preferences > General entry to choose either the URL or the video appearance in your document:
Different browsers will vary the content that they place on the clipboard for the same URL and how that data is accepted by Pages.
