iPhone notifications when using iwatch

I just got an Apple Watch and have it all set up to mirror my phone so I can get my notifications on both my phone and my watch but I don’t want the sounds on my watch so I put it on silent. Now my phone won’t make sound alerts if I’m using my watch 🤦‍♀️ What settings do I need so that my watch with vibrate with notifications but my phone will make noise with notifications?
