My mom did something in display with the colors and now we cant get it back to normal. all the colors and words and everything is distorted. how do we fix

Open System Preferences > Accessibility > Display. Uncheck Invert colors.

Try changing "Color Profile:" to iMac" from the drop down menu in System Preferences > Displays. If that doesn't work, you need to supply more info as to what she changed.
Have you tried the other color profiles?
FWIW, since you said nothing changed when you chose different color profiles and invert colors, it's possible your Mac has a hardware problem. In which case, since it's only 2 months old, you have a 1 year warranty so you could make an Genius Bar appointment to have it looked at.

There is no option to change to that. all the photos and words look like an X-ray in color. Ive tried everything.
I tried that. that didnt work either. My mom changed one of her colors and we haven't been able to fix it ever since. I just bought the computer for $1500 two months ago im devastated.
Well when I click on profiles and then a screen comes up on the left but it doesn't let me click on anything to change it. thats what I dont understand.

Yes I believe so but last night I did an update to the newer version I forgot what its called but I thought that would help but it didnt do anything. I think it was Monterey
