Timed Siri Shortcut or Automation.

I have a Belkin Smart Plug that controls a pump on my tankless hot water heater. The pump is used to get immediate hot water to my upstairs shower. I work at home & take showers at different times of the day, so setting up a schedule won't work.

The Smart Plug is connected to my Home, and right now I use Siri to turn the pump on & off, but sometimes I forget to tell Siri to turn the pump off.

I'd like to be able to have the pump turn on and run for 10 minutes. Is it possible to create a shortcut that could do that? So if I say: "Hey Siri, Turn on Garage Pump", the pump comes on, and automatically turns off 10 minutes later.

It can apparently be done on Andriod: https://www.alphr.com/setup-timer-amazon-smart-plug/

OK, I figured out a way to do this that works for me, and since I’ve seen this question asked several times before with no answer, here’s what I came up with.

I couldn’t find any way to use the Alarm in Clock, so after my device turns off, I play music with my HomePods to act as an alarm.

This automation does the following: 1) Turns on an accessory 2) Waits 555 seconds (~10 minutes) 3) Turns off the accessory 4) Waits 5 seconds 6) Plays music on my HomePod for 15 seconds 5) Stops the Music

1) Open the Home app

2) Select: Automation (bottom of the screen)

3) Click on the + symbol (Upper Right Corner)

4) Choose: Add Automation

5) Select: An Accessory is Controlled

6) Select Accessory (or Accessories)

7) Tap: Next

8) Select: Turns On

9) Tap: Next

10) Scroll to bottom of page and tap: Convert to Shortcut

11) Tap on: Scenes & Accessories.

12) Select your Accessory again from step 6 which was lost when Converted to Shortcut

13) Tap: Next

14) Reset parameters by touching accessory (Turns On)

15) Tap: Done

16) At the bottom of the page, search for: Wait

17) Tap: Wait

18) Tap on: 1 Second to set desired Wait time

19) In the search field, type Home

20) Select: Control My Home

21) Tap on: Scenes and Accessories

22) Select Accessory

23) Tap: Next

24) Tap Accessory to set to: Turns Off

25) Tap: Done

26) In the search field, type wait.

27) Select: Wait

28) Set to a few seconds

29) Search for Home

30) Select: Control My Home

31) Tap On: Scenes and Accessories

32) Select a device to act as an alarm (I chose both my Homepods)

33) Tap: Next

34) Tap: Play Audio

35)Tap: Choose Audio & select a song or tone

36) Tap: Back

37) Tap: Done

38) Search for: Wait

39) Select: Wait

40) Set how long your Alarm will be On

41) Search for: Home

42) Select: Control My Home

43) Select Accessory (Homepods)

44) Tap: Next

45) Touch Accessory (Homepod) to set to Pause

46) Tap: Done

47) Search: Stop

48) Select: Stop This Shortcut

49) Tap: Next

50) Tap: Done
