The bottom section of the linked article explains why you don't have it and what to do otherwise.

The reason you don't have it is because you don't have a T2 or Apple Silicon Mac. Both a T2 and Apple Silicon Mac encrypts the Mac from the start. If it is encrypted, it is simple to erase the content and settings.

The reason you don't have it is because you don't have a T2 or Apple Silicon Mac. Both a T2 and Apple Silicon Mac encrypts the Mac from the start. If it is encrypted, it is simple to erase the content and settings.
