My Apple Watch has an activation lock on it because a family member gave it to me but we don’t know what the password is and we’re almost positive we know the email. The Apple ID was also disabled and we don’t recognize the phone number.
Activation Lock is designed to prevent anyone else from using an Apple Watch if it's ever lost or stolen.

Activation Lock is an anti-theft feature that cannot be bypassed. Only the previous owner can remove the lock by using their Apple ID & password. If the previous owner cannot or will not remove the lock, then the watch is useless to you or anyone else.

The previous owner passed away and we don’t know what the password to the Apple ID is because the phone that was used with that Apple ID was wiped. Would we be able to take it to a phone store and have them remove the lock?
