Sleep issue with switching screen sides on wakeup needs to be fixed

I read through that the fix for the issue of your monitor screen switching sides upon wake up was to turn off sleep. That's not a solution that's a Band-Aid and if something as simple as sleep is screwed up in the new Mac mini then I would expect the proper solution and a fix would be in order considering how much money we spent on the tiny little thing just to have extra ram and ssd space. When will this issue be fixed? Is it a software issue or a hardware issue? If it's hardware will apple cover the problem?
