Mac booting straight to apple logo after erasing macintosh hd, then to Windows where there is an error
I have been trying to downgrade my early 2014 mac from monterey to back to high sierra because if software problems.
I erased macintosh hd from disk utility in recovery mode, then was going to boot from a high sierra bootable drive that I made. However when I turn on the mac, it goes straight to an apple logo, then it goes to windows where there is an error message because it doesn't have the necessary files to actually boot windows. Then it shuts down
I tried to hold alt when booting up to access the boot screen (so I could boot from bootable USB), but it doesn't work, I tried booting it without the bootable media plugged in, doesn't work. Same outcome.
Any suggestions?
