Shortcuts Newbie (for iphone 12 pro)

How do I create a shortcut to open settings for music equalizer? I am new to shortcuts, so if you can help me, please give me detailed directions. I have been down the rabbit hole of shortcuts and have no idea how the app works let alone how to set this up.

More details of my intent: I am trying to make my sound louder when I am listening to audiobooks, music, etc. I have bluetooth headset in my motorcycle helmet and they are NOT loud enough. I also want the option to play music louder on my phone and it seems the only way to do this is to change music EQ settings for what I need at the time. I don't want the shortcut to play my music, I just want to change the equalizer settings so I can adjust the sound.

If I am headed in the wrong direction, please steer me :-)

mikellg ~ It's easier to create the shortcut than try to give you "detailed directions"!...

Open Apple's Shortcuts app and create a custom shortcut:

  • Tap on the icon at top left to choose a color and glyph.
  • Tap on Shortcut Name and enter EQ Settings or similar.
  • Search for this action: URL and tap it to add it.
  • Copy & Paste the line below over the default apple.com in that action's field:

prefs:root=MUSIC&path=com.apple.Music:EQ

  • Search for this action: Open URLs and tap it to add it.
  • (The Speak Text action is optional.)

...This is optional too:

Add a shortcut to the Home Screen on iPhone or iPad

mikellg ~ You're welcome. By the way, instead of tapping actions to add them, actions can be dragged into position. And another way to trigger your shortcut is via a double or triple Back Tap:

Settings app > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap > Double Tap > Scroll down to the SHORTCUTS section > Choose EQ Settings (or whatever you've named your custom shortcut.)

Use Back Tap on your iPhone
