Numbers text line breaks in a cell

While typing text in a Text Cell, if I want to hit return to get to the next line in the same cell, the cursor jumps to the cell below. I want to stay in the same cell and go to the next line of text. Can it be done?

I used to know many of them when I was working. Not needing them for many years makes me a bit rusty. It's just that I'm used to using Command/Shift in the programs I used regularly. This one seems to be an outlier.

I'm just glad I feel fairly confident in "experimenting" without fear that the computer will blow up. It's a fine line between "playing around" and doing something really bad to the system or my document.

Do appreciate your suggestion.

The equivalent menu command is Insert->Line Break. I was thinking you could assign Command Return to it, overriding what that usually does (Edit->Select Parent) but it wouldn't work. It showed the shortcut in the menu system but the two shortcuts continued to do what they originally did. I then tried overriding Select Parent as Option Return and it shows it in the menu system but both still to do what they originally did. I tried quitting Numbers and restarting it but no luck. I tried making the shortcuts for "all applications", not just Numbers, and no luck. Another bug I guess.
