There is no arguing with a lack of space. This limitation will prevent you from updating your iPhone directly. You can use a computer to update your device. A computer will download and apply the update for you.


Apple provides two documents showing how to update your iPhone by using a computer, depending on the age of the computer: if you're using a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, or if you're using a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier or a Windows PC.
