How can i block porn sites on my teens ipad without restricting her access to LGBT podcasts and content?

My daughter is 16 and recently had an experience where her hardly ever used chrome app somehow appeared with a google search for ‘pornhub’. She asked me to put restrictions on her ipad to protect her from inadvertent porn. However, having done this she now can’t listen to a podcast between a Strictly Come Dancing pro who is gay and a lesbian who is interviewing him! Not only is it offensive to me as a lesbian that my sexuality is equated with male ideas of what it is eg pornography but it means there is lots of content i want her to have access to which is not pornography and which now she can’t access.

how do i protect her, or any of us for that matter (i received a particularly offensive spam email this week) from porn without restricting our access to LGBT content or acceptable discussion of sex and sexuality or films pertaining to?

iPad 2, iOS 9

For iOS/iPadOS, content blockers are implemented as Safari extensions. Safari is explicitly designed as a privacy-focussed browser, that supports additional extensions via system API.

If you intend to use Google Chrome, have no expectation of being able to effectively filter any content - beyond any rules that you are able to configure within your Google account - and these will only apply while you are “signed-in” to the Chrome App.

1Blocker differentiates between sites using filters and rules - details of which you will find on 1Blocker’s website. You can block by Category - and by individual rules. If a specific site is blocked by a rule within the ruleset, you can choose to “white list” the site.

As mentioned in my initial reply, given your specific need, be prepared to refine the rules yourself. To be clear, while making no suggestion that they are in any way linked, you won’t find a universal “ready-made” LGBTQ+ “allow” / Porn “Disallow” filter.
