Is there any hands-on support for my Mac use in southeast Calgary other than the Apple stores in the big malls? I definitely learn best by someone showing me something more than reading about it and the Apple store group learning hasn't worked for me.

There may be on college campuses, independent learning centers, technical schools, continuing education centers, adult education courses and the like.
I suggest a web search.
I saw that too, but it lists a club that's now defunct. Almost 12 years ago. I guess they're not really checking on the status.

Too bad. I found a couple still active when I searched for 500 miles from me. One showed scheduled classes coming up next month but they were Zoom. Another COVID victim?
