AirPlay on the receiving device will likely have an on|off setting.
For the current models Apple TV box, that is in Settings﹥AirPlay and HomeKit﹥AirPlay﹥On|Off.
If you are using AirPlay to stream to a different device, then please tell us.
Both devices have to be connected to the same home network.
