Not possible with that model.. A 2008 iMac cannot run any macOS higher than OS 10.11 "El Capitan" Since then, there have been:

  • 10.12 Sierra
  • 10.13 High Sierra
  • 10.14 Mojave
  • 10.15 Catalina
  • 11.X Big Sur
  • 12.X Monterey

Your iMac lacks the internal hardware required for any higher OS version.

Find any new software that will run on such an old computer is now close to impossible.
