Unable to reset an iPad I just replaced

I just bought a new iPad and I need to erase my old iPad. While trying to erase the iPad, I get a verification failed (AK AuthenticationError error - 7005.) Is there another way to force the iPad back to factory settings?

Thanks,

Bob
