communication between 2 iPhones

Out of the blue, my son & I are unable to talk to each other via text & phone calls. I have a iPhone 8+ and he has an iPhone 7. Both have up-to-date operating systems. He can receive my texts & phone calls, but I don't receive his texts. When he tries to call my phone, he just gets my voice mail & FaceTime continually rings & never picks up. His carrier said it is my issue. He has no problems with any of his other contacts. - Thanks

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 15

Greetings Fredymac,

Since you are able to send messages out, but not receive them, begin by checking that the contact is not blocked.
