preparing to transfer - finish on new iphone

Upgrading from iPhone 7 to iPhone 13 mini, after following all the steps laid out by Apple, the data transfer seems stuck with the below messages.

On the new iPhone 13 mini, I get the circular thinking prompt with the message "Preparing to transfer..."; on the old phone(source), I get a popup window with the same circular thinking prompt and the message "Finish on New iPhone". If I try to close the popup window on the old phone, I get another dialog popup asking "Exit Setup? Are you sure you want to exit setup ? with options to either cancel or Exit setup. This is stuck for over 6+ hours when the data I have to transfer is less than 75GB.

When using Quick Start, it is best to:

Keep your devices near each other and plugged in to power until the data migration process is complete. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as network conditions and the amount of data being transferred.

If the transfer has still not completed, then we would recommend using another method to transfer data to your new device. This article walks you through all the available methods: Transfer data from your previous iOS or iPadOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
