In the fine print of Metal Overview - Apple Developer, it says,
Mac: Apple silicon (M1 or later), AMD Radeon Pro Vega series, AMD Radeon Pro 5000/6000 series, Intel Iris Plus Graphics series, Intel UHD Graphics 630
The problem is, my GPU is not the Radeon Pro 5500-XT, it's the regular Radeon RX 5500-XT.
On a side note, my iGPU is the UHD Graphics 617, not the 630

As to compatibility with your Mac, I'd think the Metal 3 site would be able to tell you that. Per the link above, it's Apple silicon ready. I'd assume that makes it compatible with Macs. After all that is an Apple site.
Even if it was minimum specs, the RX would technically be lower than the Pro series.
Apples decision on making the regular cards “not supported” is incredibly dumb. I hope that this was just for the fine print.
Assuming the specs are correct; you're not compatible. However, that may be minimum specs.
