Editing existing markups after the document is saved and closed

Hi,

I'll be working on a marked-up document for the next couple of months but I'm worried about shutting down my computer or closing the document because I'm not able to edit the exisiting markups if I do.

I can save the document, close it, come back to it and add new markups but I can't edit the markups already in place e.g. an existing text box.

Surely I don't have to leave these documents opened the entire time?

PS I'm using markup via preview.

Hi Tatjana,

I would import the PNG in Photos App, there you can change the Markup even after you have closed / reopened the file.

You could create a special album "My Edits" for these files.

Click here to edit the photo / PNG in Photos App.

Click here to start Markup

Screenshots show macOS 12.4 and Photos 7.0

Please send a feedback to Apple Team that you'd like to have this option also in Preview, maybe it will help that this feature will be implemented in one of the next macOS versions.
