Safari is updated when you upgrade the operating system on your Mac. The current version of Safari is 15.5

The model year of a MacBook Pro is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

An Early 2008 through mid 2009 MacBook Pro can be upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.6 but no later version. See: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

If you cannot upgrade your Mac operating system, you may want to install a 3rd party browser. The latest version of Chrome is compatible with OS X 10.11 or later. https://www.google.com/chrome/
