That number is on your receipt and is not available from Goldman Sachs. I know this may not be the answer you had hoped for. You can confirm this Goldman Sachs Bank the issuer and service of the Apple Card MasterCard.

The store is IMO likely feeding you rubbish.
If it was a “regular” card … which was lost/stolen … you’d be in the same position.
And credit card numbers no longer print on receipts anyway.
Most stores don’t even want to see your card anymore when issuing credits on a transaction.
They simply “credit back to original
payment method used” and Mastercard/Visa sort it all out.
The receipt has the last four digits of the card used, printed on the receipt. This is how it’s done in an Apple Retail Store. It’s possible if other information was given such as phone number or email, the receipt could be searched that way as well, but depends on the retailer and their POS system. 😀
I didn’t mean anything, but just wanted to say your a great contributor to the community and wanted to explain how most refunds work. I have an advantage have been a (retired now) Apple Store Manager. 😀
the store is home depot, I make 50+ purchases/yr with them, I purchased with my apple card, but the card was compromised and i had to get a new number issued. I tried to return an item I purchased 6 months ago on the old number. I'll try to give them the old last 4 digets
Thanks
I didn’t take it any other way. 😉
To the contrary, your obvious background w/ AppleCards and Wallet in-general are a huge benefit to ASC.
In fact, if I suspect that you’re online, I’ll wait for you to answer most CCard-related questions; only if they linger, then I’ll take a “crack” at ‘em.
Re: “… I tried to return an item I purchased 6 months ago … “
Aha! .. there’s the “missing bit” of info.
I too regularly shop at and return extra/unneeded items to HD (although generally within a week - or at most two weeks - of purchase) …
… and have NEVER needed to pull out my Apple Card during the credit-issuance process.
But after 6-months … I can now fully understand the store’s dilemma.
Fair Enough … the less sophisticated Payment Service Providers’ product offerings - or small businesses - indeed may not have a “smooth” interface when it comes to issuing credits.
