International travel with an iphone 11

I am thinking about getting an iphone 11 unlocked before i go traveling to jordan, turkey, bosnia, greece, and france. I would be buying it from canada. But I have read different things saying that an unlocked iphone 11 doesnt work with international sim cards. Is this true?

If the phone is truly unlocked, it should work with any SIM (possible exceptions being China and countries that require you to register the IMEI in order to activate).

In the U.S., the only place to get a new, unlocked iPhone is from Apple directly. I don't know if that's also the case in Canada but, I recommend generally buying directly from Apple/
