why can’t I stop seeing the battery percentage message

That’s not a ‘battery percentage’ message. It’s a warning. Either the battery has failed, or you have had the battery replaced by an unauthorized party.


If the battery has not been replaced, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store or take it to your local AASP and have it serviced.


If you had the battery replaced by someone other than Apple or an authorized service provider, you can either live with it, or buy a new phone. Apple most likely won’t touch it once it’s been tampered with.
