Restoring note that disappeared from iPad after clicking on Notes (from iPad) icon on MacBook Air

I was editing a document on the notes app of my 4th gen iPad Air when I clicked on the "Notes (from iPad)" icon on my 2017 MacBook Air. The note I was editing on my iPad disappeared and the notes I had on my computer merged onto my iPad. I've already looked in the "recently deleted" folder as well as every other folder on the notes app, searched using several key words and scrolled throughout my notes. Nowhere to be found. Is there any way to get it back?

I'm assuming it was a bug and that I won't be able to get the note back, because when I tried to recreate the issue by creating and editing a new note on the iPad and clicked the aforementioned icon, the note remained on the iPad besides merging to my computer...
