2017 Macbook: Connect a midi Keyboard and charging at the same time via a HUB

i just bought a 2017 Macbook for using live as I am sure it will run my soft synths. I have installed Logic, Falcon and had things running will with a 61 Key Midi controller this evening. Now my question is:

This machine only has a single USB C port. If I buy a hub that has both 'regualr USB' ports, and a USB C port, can I use the USB C port on the HUB for charging/powering the Macbook with the adapter that came with it if I have an available AC outelet while using my midi controller? I always don't in places I play outdoors in the summer, but wondering if this is possible. Thanks in advance.

Fender Twin.
