My 5th generation iPad willl not connect to server for iMessage and FaceTime

If you followed the steps in the support document, it says under the section if it is still not activated after a day, contact Apple Support. That is what you need to do if that is what has happened.
This comes from the link I provided to you earlier, and explains what to do if you do not see the Text Message Forwarding area.
* Don't see the Text Message Forwarding setting on your iPhone? Go to Settings > Messages, turn off iMessage, turn it back on, tap Send & Receive, tap Use Your Apple ID for iMessage, then sign in with the same Apple ID used on your other devices.

I tried. Still will not work. I just don’t understand. It’s been working all these years, then all of sudden it will not connect to server???
When I go to settings on my iPhone and look at iMessage there is no longer an option to forward my messages to my iPad?

I was on the phone with Apple for an hour and half still not fixed. After that they wanted to erase iPad. I said not now. I can’t believe this.
