Touch ID

My touch ID suddenly stopped working. Even after trying to go to Settings and enroll a finger, all attempts failed

this is a good resource. If Touch ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


the battery approach is an interesting one and i would say its considerable but i would follow the resource above. it sounds like you might need to get in contact with apple support and schedule a visit for hardware inspection

Helen ~ 80% or less is considered to be unhealthy. So your 75% indicates a weak battery due to normal use and age. A weak battery can negatively affect an iPhone in a variety of ways, including Touch ID.
