Calendar crashing without opening

Hi, recently i cannot open my calendar on my MacBook pro. I have a 2014 Macbook pro retina 13inch running BigSur version 11.6.7.

I have tried opening in safe mode and i have also tried the disk utility approach at start up but with no success. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I saw in a much older post about disconnecting wifi and deleting a iCal file in a library somewhere but i cannot find that file location which makes me think that perhaps the solution is out of date.
