com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error - 9912

I’m getting the above error code when trying to import pictures and video from an iPhone 12mini to my Mac running macOS Hugh Sierra. I have tried different cables and ports but no success. Anyone know how to sort this please ?

If possible use an apple original cable, and connect directly to a port in the mac (not into a hub).

Try also using the image capture app rather than the photos app, to transfer to a folder, then try the import from there.

Finally make sure that the iPhone is unlocked, and that it "trusts" the mac. Restart the mac, and if still not working, try restarting in safe mode, then restarting normally and try again.

Safe mode will clear temporary files and caches, and sometimes fixes odd glitches such as this.
