LostAirpods

I lost my AirPods a few days ago. The day I had used them the last time, I had also realised, that I couldn't find them. So I checked the location on my Find Me App and it showed my house, I didn't need them so I didn't worry about finding them. Today I checked my App again and there was no location found, which would make sense as they probably ran out of battery, so I googled and found out that even the last connected Location of empty Airpods could be shown on the App. My Application does not show the last location of my airpods, even tho the internet said that you should me able to see the last location of your airpods despite the fact that they are empty. I still have them on my devices list, but I cant mark them as lost nor can I see the last location and I refuse to believe its because they are empty.

What could I do? Is it normal for empty Airpods to not be able to see the last location or be able to mark them as lost? Please don't send me an already existing Apple Support article because I can assure you that I read it.
