Was Van camping in a national forest without any signals. Took off iWatch, powered off and left in vehicle - never saw it again. Returned home to big computer, used FIND MY and nothing - no location. Next day a location shows up - ???

How exactly does the last location feature function ? iWatch was off when lost, yet reported its location several days after it went missing. There are no signals available in the area. A mystery.

By all logic, it was taken from the vehicle and is gone. But where ?? Series 5 cellular/GPS watch. Returned to parking lot 2 days later and did a thorough search, metal detector and all. Put up REWARD signs. Device shows up on map with iPhone and Find My, and claims to play a sound, (connecting ... playing) but no sound in the area last reported location. A year of heart monitoring info - gone.
