iPhone is frozen - cannot turn off, cannot reboot

My iPhone is frozen. I have a regular screen, but cannot go into apps, cannot turn off phone, hard reboot does not work.. suggestions?

Do this VERY CAREFULLY:


  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP

THEN

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN

THEN

  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears


The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.


This procedure loads a very low level ROM process and is guaranteed to work unless there is a hardware failure.
