500 internal server error after ios 15.5 update

Hi,

I updated my iPad to iOS 15.5 and right after login back in couple websites on my existing tabs won’t load and is showing the 500 internal server error message. Same with all browsers. However the websites will load when using mobile data.

I’ve resent the router, restarted iPad, cleared cache etc, but nothing is working.

any advice?

The 500 Internal Server Error is of itself non-specific - and simply indicates that the server was unable to process the request. Tracing the trigger will likely be difficult without access to the server logs and/or assistance from the website owner. The best that you can hope to achieve is report the issue to the website operator - along with details of the browser(s) that are experiencing difficulties.

Some websites may incorrectly identify your iOS/iPadOS Safari User Agent when used in one or other of its browsing modes - of which their are two - these being Desktop and Mobile. When operating in Desktop mode, the User Agent will declare itself as Mac computer; in Mobile, the browser will appear to be iPadOS.

It’s easy to switch between modes if a website isn’t functioning correctly. From the desired web-page, touch the aA icon at the left of the Address Bar; this will reveal a menu. From the menu select Website Settings, then select (or deselect) Request Desktop Website, then tap Done. Now refresh the webpage.

The chosen setting will be saved for the selected website - and can be simply reversed if needed.
