how can I use my iphone to find another iphone that I misplaced?

If they're connected with the same Apple ID, simply open Find My and locate it on the map.
If they have different Apple IDs, you can either go to the "Me" tab on the Find My app, then press "Help a Friend" at the bottom. Or, you can use the web - iCloud.com/find
