My text messages were synced to my Mac. I then deleted a text message on my IPhone and the text message was deleted on my MAC. Any way to restore the messages? Why would the text message delete on the MAC when it was synced and had been stored on the MAC?

You are syncing messages with iCloud, which mean when you delete a message on one device, they delete on all devices which sync content with iCloud.
If you don't want them to be deleted on your Mac, turn off iCloud sync with Messages on your Mac:
