How to set timer to vibrate-only iPhone 13 (NOT alarm, timer function specifically)
The tagline says it. I just changed from Android where it was very easy to change your alarms and timers to vibrate only (all sound bars come up if you hold the volume up or down key, and you can just slide it to adjust ringer, media, alarms, alerts, etc). Unfortunately, the almighty Apple is lagging in their simplicity for such an EASY function.
If you want your alarm to switch between noise and vibrate, you literally have to go into every alarm and change it individually. What a waste of time. Anyway, I can at least do that, annoying as it is.
***Bigger issue is the timer. I set a timer to remind me to do something at work today, then silenced the phone. Because I have the 'vibrate on silence' turned on, I assumed (not unreasonably) that all sounds would change to vibrate during silent mode. Unfortunately, it went off with sound at work. (Lame, Apple).
There is no option within the timer settings (that I can see--again, I'm new to iPhone) to set it to vibrate and turn the sound off like you can with an alarm. So... how do you change the timer to vibrate? Is it even possible?
It's not in sounds and haptics settings either (which, by the way, doesn't even have an option to adjust media volume from within the sounds and haptics settings--seems like an oversight).
Apple tech people--is there a solution for this? Also, any suggestions on how to easily adjust media volume without first playing the media would be appreciated (e.g., want to watch a vid of the kids while at work but want to turn the sound off first or make it very quiet so it doesn't blare loudly before you can adjust it down...)
Pretty happy overall with the new iPhone, but man the sound settings are not as user-friendly as I've become accustomed to with other Apple features. This needs to get back to the design people--seriously. Thanks!
