* * * Seeking Low-EMF mouse for my MacBook Pro * * *

I have developed EHS (Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity) and now when I use my MacBook Pro, I get sick. I already shut off the wifi, I hardwired my internet with ethernet, and am using a hardwired keyboard and mouse. But yet, I am still getting sick after about a half hour using my laptop.

The mouse I am using is USB, but it has the LED optical sensor. Others with EHS are saying, we are sensitive to the LED. So now I am looking for a mouse that uses the old trackball system but I also need a USB adaptor to connect it to my MacBook Pro. I have not had luck finding this combination.

I would dearly love someone to tell me there is a mouse and adaptor available to solve this problem.

Thanks!

You might be able to find an older wired mouse with ball mechanism. I still have one that's about 20 years old with a USB-A connector, although I rarely use it. Nobody makes one any more, but they're not that expensive on eBay or Amazon.

All you'll need to connect it to USB-C is either a USB-C connector to USB-A sockets hub or just an adapter. I rather like having a hub in order to connect multiple USB-A devices. Some of the older mice ones might be a PS/2 mouse that comes with a USB-A adapter.

Logitech still has wired mice, but only with an optical system.

Older PS/2 mice might be your best bet. They may come with USB adapters, although if they don't there are adapters available separately. I found this one:, although it doesn't come with a USB adapter. You can search for something like "wired ball mouse" or "wired mechanical mouse".
