I got a new iPad and my phone number is listed in messages in send and receive although messages sent to my phone number aren’t coming through on my iPad. I’ve unchecked and rechecked the phone number as well as power the iPad on and off, still no messages.

If you have an iPhone - and both iPad and iPhone are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID, to send SMS/MMS messages from your iPad you must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone...
On your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.
Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON

I’m also having problems being able to send or receive airdrops even though it is turned on. I’ve tried Contacts Only and Everyone. Any suggestions regarding that?
