location folder disappeared in Finder

I will add— that at least one box needs to be checked in Finder>Preferences>Sidebar>Locations...

for the category to even show in your Finder side bar.


The "content" of the Locations category can be hidden/shown spinning the carrot as posted above, which requires your mouse hover over the right side of the column as shown.

Location folder ... where in Finder are you expecting to see this?


There is a "Relocated Items" folder if you upgraded your macOS...

the original can be found in Finder>Go>Go To Folder> copy and paste:

/Users/Shared
