It is usually best to check with the vendor.
Here are the Canon PIXMA MX922 (MX920) series drivers:
If those are not working and if Canon support does not have a fix or update or workaround for their PIXMA MX922 scanner, and if the scanner lacks support for TWAIN for integrated alternatives (TWAIN and AirPrint can be considered requirements when purchasing scanners and printers), then maybe the VueScan app will get the scanner working?
That printer most likely is no longer compatible with Mac OS. It is rather "aged" and mentions OS 10.6 - 10.9. We just replaced an older model which had become quite finicky especially with the scanning function.
Actually, I have the same printer, and use it with a new iMac running Mac OS 12.4.
All functions that have been available from day one, are still available with the printer and scanner.
The Canon site I linked above has the appropriate drivers for that model and Mac OS 12.
Well, that's good. We had a slightly later model and it had been throwing hissy-fits (especially scanning - if it scanned at all). Still trying to learn the new one we just got.
