I have forgotten my password on my macbook air? How can I get it?

macOS Catalina or later:

1. Enter a wrong password three times on the login screen.
2. Choose one of three password reset options:

• Restart and show password options
• Reset using Apple ID
• Reset using recovery key (if applicable)

Follow onscreen instructions.

**If using macOS Mojave or earlier, follow the steps at Change or reset the password of a macOS user account in macOS Mojave or earlier - Apple Support.**

Try Resetting your Mac Login Password:

Reset it using the login screen. You'd go through your Apple ID to perform this. Find out more here: If you Forgot your Mac Login Password - Apple Support. Make sure that caps lock is not enabled when typing it.
