if you have iOS 12.5.5, then you have an iPhone 6/6 Plus or older. You cannot update beyond iOS 12.

If you need to run newer iOS, you'll need a newer iPhone model

If it is iOS 12.5.5 then it is not iPhone 7 as per your profile.

An unit running 12.5.5 isn't capable of 13 or above. It also won't be an iPhone 7.

If the prompt says that iOS 12.5.5 is up to date, then that is going to be the end of the road for updates on that iPhone. You likely have an iPhone 5 or 6.
