I purchased an iPhone 13 without realizing it had a USB type C male connector, I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma with Apple car play with a uSB type A input. I have found USB Type A input to USB type C output converters. Will the converter allow me to use Apple Car Play functions?

The iPhone 13 actually has a Lightning connection. While the included cable has USB-C at one end, it is not meant for the iPhone end. If you have an existing Lightning - USB-A cable from a previous iPhone, it should work in your truck.

That is not correct. The iPhone 13 has a Lightning connector on the phone, just like ever other iPhone model since the iPhone 4. You can use any Lightning to USB-A cable with it.
