Apple Spam filter is suddenly not working!

I have an iPhone 12 ProMax and am using the correct settings to block spam calls. Any caller not in my contact list is supposed to be silenced and given the opportunity to leave a voicemail. However, as of 6/24/22, this is suddenly not working. It appears that spammers have found a way around Apple’s program for blocking spam! All spam calls are now ringing on my phone at all hours of the day and night, including the times I have set for “do not call.” Help please!

Last night, I enabled SMS Call Reporting to allow me to report spam/robo callers to Verizon Call Filter by swiping the “report” option in my Recent Contacts (missed calls) list. I am curious to see if that may be interfering with the Silence Unknown Callers in Settings. I just disabled the SMS Call Reporting option & rebooted my phone. Will see if that makes a difference.
