Apple pencil (2nd generation) not working

Hello,

I just got the pencil and have paired it and it's even charging. My problem is it doesn't work at all. Is it possible it's defective? I have tried everything from resetting my new iPad Air (5th generation). I'm seriously losing it right now.

It maybe defective and or could be an issue with the iPad OR both.

I would make an appointment to visit your “local” Apple Store and bring both devices for Apple Genius employees to inspect and evaluate/diagnose.
