Is it safe to use a charging cable that has gotten wet?

I spilled some water on my charging cable. Would it still be safe to use after it dries or could it damage my phone?

I didn’t have my phone around any water but it says there has been water detected in the charging port what should I do? I plugged my phone in when it died and when it turned back in it alerted ,e that charging would be postponed until water was removed from the charging port but I didn’t have it near any water. What should I do?

if it's all dried out it should be safe.
