What's required for submitting .ipa-file?

Hi!

I have very little knowledge about Apple products, but I will soon have an app that is to be submitted to AppStore. I do know a little about the process involved getting the .ipa-file submitte to the AppStore (creating a certificate, Apple Developer page etc.), but I don't know what device I need to get that done.

Do I need a Mac computer? Does it need have an certain version of iOS installed? Can I use a Mac cloud service (like this one: https://www.macincloud.com/), so I don't have to buy a Mac just to have the app submitted?

Hope you can guide me in the right direction here :)

Somebody threw you into the deep end of the proverbial pool, eh?

The Apple app store submission process involves acquiring paid membership in the developer program usually including a DUNS number, developing with Xcode (Mac) or Playgrounds (Mac, iPad), and submitting from there. Command-line submission is also possible, though that involves a Mac.

If as might be inferred here, you’re getting an IPA file created from some other third-party tooling, best ask the folks providing the tooling for guidance and assistance.

The Apple app submission tooling and documentation all assumes use of macOS or maybe Swift Playgrounds on iPad.

Nope; too old. App Store submission guidelines require current Xcode, and Xcode 13.4.1 requires macOS Monterey.
