I am trying to shut off Auto Start on my 2020 MacBook Pro. I have tried using terminal and the following command: sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00 I have had no luck.
I also tried to reset the nvram to factory settings by using Option+Command+R+P with no luck. Could not get the double startup sound.
Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something.

You can not turn this "feature" off —ie autostart up...it is the new way.

Welcome. As leroy stated, you can't disable it.
If you have an M1 MacBook Pro there's no resetting NVRAM.
Thank for the quick response, I do have the M1. Is there any way to change the auto Start or am I stuck with it.
