Universal control stops working after a few days - need to reboot

I have an M1 Mac mini and an M1 iPad Pro 11". I'm on Monterey 12.4. Universal Control is fantastic! Until it just stops working. Meaning, I can't push the cursor to the left of the screen over to my iPad. This happens after both devices have been asleep or I've been away from the house with my iPad. It usually works for a few days and then just stops working.

Then I have to fiddle with blue tooth settings, disable/enable Handoff on the iPad, disable/enable Universal Control on the Mac. Reboot the iPad.

The only thing that reliably gets it to work again is rebooting both the Mac Mini and iPad. Obviously, this is not a great solution.

I really like the feature, but it's very unreliable. Any help here?

Mac mini, macOS 12.4

I know this isn't the answer that you want to hear. but I'm a firm believer that regular restarts are important to the correct operation your Mac. and the fact that universal control stops working after a few days and a restart fixes it just confirms for me that , yes, regular restarts are a good thing. I rarely go more than 24 hours without restarting my iMac. do what you will with this advice.
